Killington is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States.
The population was 1,095 at the 2000 census.
The town is also home to a well-known ski resort of the same name.
The town was previously named Sherburne, but on March 2, 1999, the town voted to change
its name to Killington.
This was approved by the Vermont General Assembly on April 27, 1999.
